Residents

Where do you belong? You become who you have breakfast with. It’s the company you keep.

For pre-founders, post-founders, and non-founders

Zero, one, or somewhere in between.

Some residents are founders building companies, but not all. Others work at Meta, study at Stanford or are in the Valley for a season. Everyone here is mid-draft. What they share is the house, the deck, and dinner conversations worth staying up for.

For founders and scalers

Building is not a remote job.

Conviction is built in person. Show the prototype on Thursday because someone at breakfast asked on Monday. The person across the kitchen has probably made the mistake you are about to make.

Raising is a contact sport. Money moves faster between people who have met. Rounds close between people who have shared a table, and that table is ten minutes from Sand Hill Road.

Before the raise

Proximity shifts trajectory.

The people who fund you later should know you now.

For builders: founders and scalers

Three tests.

Test one

You are building something unfinished.

A company, a paper, a prototype, a next chapter. If it is already done, you are in the wrong house.

Test two

You would rather be asked a hard question than paid a compliment.

The table is kind and it is direct. People here tell you what they think while you can still use it.

Test three

You give an hour as readily as you take one.

Everyone in the Orbit was helped by someone. The only rule is that it keeps moving. This is our flywheel.

How we are different

We keep the house. You keep the company.

01

Yours stays yours

A room here asks nothing of your cap table.

02

Come when you are ready

Stay a month or a year. Your work sets the calendar.

03

Good company

Your housemates are building too, and the investors come to dinner long before they see a deck.

We meet you where you are. We open doors. You still have to walk through them.

The room

A room, all in.

Furnished, with utilities, WiFi and cleaning. From one month to a year.

The house

A kitchen people cook in.

Plus a pool, a fire pit and a deck under the redwoods.

The people

The engineer, the professor, the banker.

And the investors and advisors who pass through each week.

The nights

An open door to the events.

Beta Sundays on the deck, NAR Nights around the fire, Tawla dinners.

The ask

Hard problems first.

Bring the question you are avoiding.

The promise

Our name on it.

We answer for every introduction.

Words from past builders

I stayed here for two months while working in Menlo Park and had a great experience. I also really enjoyed the outdoor space and spending time with the people staying at the house. On weekends, there were often friends and guests around, which made it a very social environment.
MK · banker · two months, then back to Chicago to finish a master’s
The house is so close to Stanford that I can meet on short notice for one-on-ones, and I love giving tours of my lab.
Martha M. · advisor, Stanford labs
I landed in Silicon Valley as a 22-year-old software engineer. I enjoy guiding others to do the same and find their way into the community.
Karim Z. · engineer, Google
